Substance & Material Compliance

Practical interpretation of UK and EU chemical regulation, translated into proportionate action for products, materials and supply chains.

Turning chemical regulation into clear, workable decisions.

Chemical and material regulation rarely arrives in a form that maps neatly onto a specific product or supply chain. We help organisations understand where UK REACH, EU REACH, CLP, BPR and POPs obligations actually apply to what they make, use or sell, and translate that into practical, proportionate action.
That typically means working through registration and notification questions, screening for restricted substances, reviewing safety data sheets and labelling, and helping supply chains exchange the substance information they are increasingly asked to provide.
UK & EU REACH registration and compliance reviews
CLP classification and labelling checks
BPR active substance and product considerations
POPs screening for restricted substances
Supply chain substance declarations, due diligence and Restricted Substances List (RSL) management
Regulatory compliance audits and gap analysis
OUR DELIVERY METHODOLOGY

A structured path from first review to ongoing assurance.

Every engagement follows the same four phases, whether the scope is a single product line or an entire portfolio.

Gap analysis
We start by reviewing the processes, policies, systems and current practices already in place, and mapping how materials regulation actually affects them. That reveals where changes, training and awareness need to be introduced, and where existing practice is already sound.
Management plans & guidance
Findings from the gap analysis are turned into a set of management plans, policies and practical guidance, covering the specific obligations identified and how they should be met by the teams responsible for them.
Implementation
We support the rollout of those plans and guidance into day-to-day operations, working alongside the teams affected so that new processes and controls are adopted in practice, not just documented.
Run & maintain
Once changes are embedded, we move into an ongoing run-and-maintain phase, gathering substance, mixture and article data into a central repository and putting horizon-scanning and records-management processes in place.
RUN & MAINTAIN, IN PRACTICE

Compliance does not stop at implementation.

Once changes are embedded, the work shifts from one-off correction to ongoing maintenance. That phase is built on three things working together.

Central substance data repository
A single, maintained source of truth for the substances, mixtures and articles in your products and supply chain, replacing scattered spreadsheets and one-off assessments with a structure that can be queried, audited and built on.
Horizon scanning
Ongoing monitoring of regulatory change across the regimes relevant to your products, so a new restriction, listing or authorisation deadline is picked up and assessed against your data before it becomes a live compliance issue.
Records management
Clear ownership and retention of the evidence behind every substance, mixture and article decision, so a position taken today can still be defended and reproduced years later.
